Brewing a Brand: My Journey with We’ve Bean Coffee

When the team behind We’ve Bean Coffee first reached out to me, it wasn’t through a cold email or pitch. It was Richie, someone I’ve known for years through local football. He’s been a coach, a mate and now, a client I’m incredibly proud to have worked with. Richie, Rebecca, Daniel and Sandra came to me with a simple but exciting vision. They wanted to launch a coffee brand that was fun, different and genuinely engaging.

A Brand That Doesn’t Blend In

We caught up over coffee (naturally) and started talking about what would make We’ve Bean different. From the start, they made it clear they didn’t want to follow the crowd. This brand wasn’t going to be quiet, minimal or forgettable. It needed to be loud, colourful and interactive. They imagined customers scanning QR codes on coffee bags, playing games and feeling part of something playful and fresh.


That energy shaped everything we created together. I designed a bold, personality-packed logo that captured their vibe perfectly. It is still one of my all-time favourite brand marks, full of character but clean and functional. It hits that sweet spot between professional and fun. Since launch, they have had heaps of people comment on how much they love the logo. And that kind of feedback is exactly what branding should spark.



A Website That Feels as Good as It Functions

Once the branding was locked in, we moved onto their ecommerce website. The goal was to make it feel on brand, easy to navigate and built to sell. Every decision, from layout to typography to colour palette, was made with consistency and experience in mind. The result is a site that doesn’t just look the part, it performs too.


Since launch, We’ve Bean has been making thousands in monthly revenue through online sales. They have grown their product line from classic beans and decaf to pods, merchandise and beyond. The site now acts as the heart of their business, helping them grow their customer base across Perth and beyond.



Design That Works Everywhere

I also supported the team with packaging design, product labels, sticker concepts and other brand collateral. All of it tied back into the brand’s original vision. Something full of life, detail and joy. Whether it is a bag of beans on a café shelf or a QR code sticker on a delivery box, every piece feels like We’ve Bean.
